She Left Beauty Wherever She Went
Today's concept of beauty is somewhat distorted due to mass media influence. We speak about this everyday in my field and this conversation is held in many educational facilities and homes throughout the world. Why is it that today, beautiful means to be skinny, wear less clothes and to wear heavy heavy makeup?

Take for instance the big screen: a bunch of skinny women with flawless faces, and not a spec of cellulite. Finding role models on the glossy pages of magazines and posters has become even more prominent. Gazing at these "role models" has become an act in which shapes the way women look and feel about themselves in today's beauty conscious society. American women base their lives on a myth, a beauty myth, which impairs their self-image and distorts their views regarding their peers.
America stereotypes women to fit the myth by suggesting that they either have beauty or intelligence, but cannot have both. Women believe that the women featured in the magazines are the models of what a male finds attractive. In reality, that's what the advertisers want the reader to find attractive. Hell, who wouldn't want to look like the models in the magazines. I sure as hell would love to be flawless like that but that is not reality at all. Below are two links to videos showing the truth behind the beauty most woman and teens believe is real but is NOT. The first video is from a DOVE Workshop I conducted for young girls who were confused about their beauty. After watching this video, it taught them the true meaning of beauty. Their own. Natural beauty. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iYhCn0jf46U

Today I'm in the mood for energizing quotes on BEAUTY because it seems as though today's society has looked passed what the real meaning truely is.
