30 Days of Juicing for September!
Juicing can add some variety to your diet while helping you get the necessary nutrients from fruits and vegetables. You can make juice at home with a juicer, try a trendy juice bar, or purchase freshly squeezed juices at the supermarket. Get all the facts about juicing and learn if it’s right for you! Juicing also helps fight and prevent CANCER! The great benefit from it, is that you can make it what you want to fit your taste! There are many juicers you can choose from but I fell in love with the NUTRIBULLET. I had a $200 juicer that worked wonders but the only thing is... it took all the most important ingredients out of the JUICE! Juicers eat up all the rine and vitamins but with the nutribullet and/or the VITAMIX, you can place a whole fruit in and drink it all in one glass! It may be a bit pricey but a good nutrition and longer life span is well worth it. My Kiddos LOVE it! I am getting in the habit of juicing for them every morning before school. Jason and I have been juicing consistently every day for a little over a month. I used to juice only when I found time too, but I have learned to make time. I am now addicted and have to have green juice a day! Our bodies feel great! We are also going to be joining a cross-fit class this month! More blogs on nutrition and exercise to come!

Beginner Green
This is for beginners that are looking for a green juice that tastes great. It's sweet while having a nice citrus flavor to it.If you have a masticating juicer, this will come out just like in the picture. If you have a centrifuge, then you may want to skip this recipe because you may not be able to get much juice out of the spinach. You can still try it, but don't be surprised if it shoots all of the spinach in the bin and a few drops come out. If you still really want to try it, you can juice everything except for the spinach, then blend the juice with the spinach to finish it off.
This makes anywhere between 24-32oz depending on the size of the produce.
Ingredients
- Apples - 3 medium (3" dia)
- Celery - 4 stalk, large (11"-12" long)
- Ginger - 1/4 thumb (1" dia)
- Lemon (with rind) - 1/2 fruit (2-1/8" dia)
- Orange (peeled) - 1 large (3-1/16" dia)
- Spinach - 5 handful
Directions
You don't have to peel the lemon, but make sure you peel the orange. The orange's skin is very bitter and can ruin the flavor.Dr. Oz's Green Drink
Here's the hard to find recipe! Dr. Oz says he drinks this every morning, and so does Oprah. After Oprah tried this on the show, she was surprised how good it tasted, calling it a "glass of fresh!"If you're here and you're new to juicing, you may find that this tastes a bit "earthy" because your taste buds may not be used to this whole thing. If that's the case, just add an extra apple or two to sweeten it up.
You can blend this recipe too, but I imagine you'll want to peel the lemon, lime, and ginger.
Ingredients
- Apples - 2 medium (3" dia)
- Celery - 3 stalk, large (11"-12" long)
- Cucumber - 1 cucumber (8-1/4")
- Ginger - 1/2 thumb (1" dia)
- Lemon (with rind) - 1/2 fruit (2-3/8" dia)
- Lime (with rind) - 1 fruit (2" dia)
- Parsley - 1 bunch
- Spinach - 2 cup
Directions
Process all ingredients in a juicer, shake or stir and serve.Fresh Start
This juice recipe is great to start with for those who are trying to ease themselves into this whole juicing thing and they're not quite ready to drink those deep colored lookin' juices. If you need it even sweeter, just add another apple to it.
Don't think that just because it's said to be a "beginner juice" means it's not as good for you, this juice is great for you!

Ingredients
- Pear - 1 medium
- Peppermint - 15 leaves
- Pineapple - 1/2 fruit
- Strawberry - 1 cup, whole

You may have issues juicing the mint leaves if you use a centrifuge juicer. Try to bunch them up into a tight ball or pack them into some lettuce before juicing. If all else fails, just stick a few mint leaves in the juice itself to get some of the minty flavor.Summer Melon
I created this after reading that watermelon and tomato had a flavor affinity for each other. It didn't sound too tasty, but tasting is believing!
If you want to get fancy, you can scoop a few pieces of watermelon out with a melon baller and toss them in as ice cube wannabes.
Ingredients
- Tomato - 1 medium whole (2-3/5" dia)
- Watermelon - 1 large wedge (approx 1/8 of melon)
Directions
Process all ingredients in a juicer, shake or stir and serve.Visit this website that is solely for green drinkers!
