Mommy Needs Quiet Time!

Stayed up late last night watching Disney movies with my babesss just so they can sleep in and I can enjoy a long hot shower and some quiet time with no interruptions! Even if it was only 30 mins.
Mommy's you know exactly what I am talking about. Was it a bribe? Well, kinda. For mommy to have some quiet time. Lord knows when they hear mommy in the restroom, it's now family meeting time! It's now, story time! It's now, let me show you my splits and or ninja turtle moves! NO, NO, NO! It's my time to be alone and enjoy my private time.
I'm really not asking for much. Like I said, even if it's only 30 minutes, it's time to myself. I love my kiddos and they make my life complete, but mommy's need time alone too, to think, relax, wind-down and get rejuvenated once again.
Us mother's, need to take a few minutes to ourselves. Reading a book, taking a bath, pouring a glass of wine, hanging out with your girlfriends or all of the above.
Mom's that take care of themselves are healthier. When your kids are sick, you take them to the doctor, but when you are sick, moms, you try to tough it out and ignore it. BUT you need to take care of yourself in order to take care of your kids. I am a work in progress in this area oh yes, but I am doing my best this year to do just that. Because in the end, my children need me. :-)
When mommy is happy, the whole family is happy!
it's true, when you get away for yourself, (doing one of the above as mentioned) you are able to recharge your mommy batteries and come back full-force and ready to be super mommy again.

Have you ever caught your kids role playing you? It can be pretty or ugly depending on the circumstances. Guess what moms; your kids are learning what a mom's role is by watching you. Do you want your daughter to grow up thinking that moms can't take time for themselves? So when they become a mom they won't take any time for themselves? And do you want to teach your son that his wife should stop being her own person and only live to take care of her family? Yeah, I didn't think so either.

So do me a favor and take a few minutes for yourself today. Read a book, take a bath, pour a glass of wine, or if you're feeling froggy do all three. You'll thank me in the morning.
